BREEDERS CODE OF ETHICS

This serves as a guideline for a minimum standard of excellence in breeding, ownership and sale of German Shepherd Dogs from our Kennels. The focus is the dedication to the preservation of the German Shepherd Dog and not the producing of puppies.

To this end we are obliged to:

  1. Maintain clean kennels and good health, including proper veterinary care and socialization of all our dogs.

  2. Urge all buyers who have a puppy or adult dog sold by us, examined by a qualified veterinarian within 24 hours of receipt. The buyer will pay for the examination.

  3. Refuse stud service to any bitch in poor health, of unsound temperament, or too young (no younger than 18 months), or lacking the necessary breed characteristics.

  4. Allow a repeat service if the bitch fails to conceive. Our Crossing agreement has details as to what to expect from us.

  5. Breed our bitch only when we have a definite goal for improvement in mind, and never permitting them to produce three consecutive litters.

  6. Use a sales receipt/invoice or written agreement in any sale or purchase involving a dog.

  7. Refuse to sell or recommend breeders who do not conform to the ideals and obligations expressed in this Code. We do not sell our dogs to dog wholesalers and retailers.

  8. Provide a copy of the German Shepherd Dog Breed Standard to each buyer.

  9. Encourage new owners to train their dogs and provide necessary socialisation for their dogs.

  10. Maintain a relationship with the buyers of our dogs to ensure the dogs are properly maintained and kept.
